Glean is a unique software package to help with navigating, annotating and organizing digital recordings of lectures and seminars. Glean shows you a visual representation of the digital recording. With this tool you can quickly review, reference and identify key sections of speech to support editorial work or research.

How to Access
You will need a license to access glean. Contact your disability officer at askds@tcd.ie.
Glean works as a Chrome Web App. It will work on any operating system if a Chrome based browser like Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge is installed.
Sign-in to the web app at app.glean.co. Here, you can use glean as a regular browser tab or install it as an app using your browser's URL bar for easy access as well as limited offline access.

You will need a license to access glean. Contact your disability officer at askds@tcd.ie.
Tap or scan the following QR code on your mobile device. This will bring you to the Assistive Technology Linktree which will link to Glean on the app store of your device.
Once you've downloaded and opened the app, sign in with your college email account (ending in "@tcd.ie").
The app should now be ready to use.
How to use Glean
Important: Please make sure you have the permission of the lecturer before recording any of their lectures!
With Glean, you can record live in-person lectures using your devices microphone
Under "Home", click the button that reads "New event".
Once you've created your event, click the microphone icon, and click "Record Screen Audio and Mic". The app may ask permission to access your microphone.
By using Glean's screen recorder, you can caption content from sites like Blackboard Collaborate, Panopto, YouTube and Zoom.

Once you've created your event, click the microphone icon, and click "Record Screen Audio". Your browser will ask permission to record the screen. Select the screen you'd like to record and click "share".
