Building description
The Douglas Hyde was built in the late 1970’s. The entrance door is on the left of the Nassau Street entrance into the campus. The front door is on first floor level and leads visitors to the reception desk and bookshop. A cantilevered staircase with 16 steps descends to the ground floor of Gallery 1. There are three steps or a ramp access to a lower level and Gallery 2, a smaller exhibition space. There is lift access to the lower floors of the Gallery through the Arts Building.
Assistance animals are always welcome. We are able to provide folding chairs to any visitors who may need to sit down regularly. Please ask the member of staff at the front desk, who will be happy to assist. The toilets and accessible toilets are located on the ground floor of the Arts Building. Gender neutral toilets are located on the third, fourth and fifth floors. Baby changing facilities are located on the ground floor of the Arts Building.
