In recent times, Trinity College has revised its Dignity and Respect policy and developed a new Sexual Misconduct policy, a formal complaint procedure, and associated supporting documentation, following an extensive period of consultation on Dignity and Respect issues in Trinity. A key recommendation to support the implementation of the policies is the establishment of a Dignity, Respect and Consent Service (DR&C). It is our hope that a summer intern might assist in this matter.

Context of the Role
Trinity College has revised its Dignity and Respect policy and developed a new Sexual Misconduct policy, a formal complaint procedure, and associated supporting documentation, following an extensive period of consultation on Dignity and Respect issues in Trinity. A key recommendation to support the implementation of the policies is the establishment of a Dignity, Respect and Consent Service (DR&C). The DR&C is committed to the promotion of an environment for work and study which upholds the dignity and respect of all members of the Trinity community and which supports your right to study and/or work in an environment which is free of any form of bullying, harassment or sexual misconduct (including sexual harassment and sexual violence).
The Purpose of the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative person to join the team as a Communications Campaign intern. This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of a communication campaign for the new DR&C Service at Trinity. As an intern, you will work closely with the DR&C team to research, plan, and create impactful and engaging content to raise awareness of Dignity, Respect and Consent and promote the services available to the college community. The DR&C aims to promote the student voice in all aspects of Dignity, Respect and Consent, particularly students who have experienced barriers and marginalisation. The communication campaign will be launched by October 2024 on campus and via social media.
Key Responsibilities:
- Campaign research: Conduct research on similar campaigns across Ireland, the UK, Europe and assist with research of the types of behaviours being experienced within the Trinity College community.
- Communication/Campaign Strategy: Assist with the development of a comprehensive communication and campaign strategy that aligns with the university's values and objectives for promoting dignity and respect.
- Content Creation: Assist with the creation of compelling, trauma informed content, including written materials, videos, graphics, and social media posts, to deliver key messages related to dignity and respect.
- Communication Channels: Identify appropriate communication channels, including university websites, social media platforms, newsletters, and other mediums to effectively reach target audiences.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with relevant departments, student organizations, and external partners to strengthen partnerships and enhance the reach and impact of the DR&C’s campaign.
The successful candidate will have an interest in developing skills and experience in the following:
- Hands-on experience developing and implementing a communication campaigns.
- Proficiency in graphic design software and tools (eg. Adobe Creative Suite) to create visually appealing content.
- Creating compelling content for diverse audiences.
- Using various communication channels, including social media platforms, websites, and email marketing tools.
- Working independently and collaboratively within a team environment, manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
