The role will offer an opportunity to contribute to the evolution of DAWN examination guidelines and to make a meaningful contributions to both DAWN and TCD organisations while gaining valuable experience in systems development, communications, and project management.

Salary:  

€332 per week, pro rata 0.6 FT

Hours of Work: 

21 hours per week (.6 FTE)

The successful applicant will be expected to start on Wednesday the 5th June 2024, or as soon as possible thereafter, and will be supported by the Disability Service throughout.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Disability Adviser Network Group (DAWN) seeks a motivated intern to work with the group  to support their current reasonable accommodations in examination and assessments review.  The role will entail working with the DAWN exam teams working group to develop and support administrative processes such as, online storage of documentation, digitalisation of administrative processes. The role will also include the

development and implementation of effective communications activities for stakeholders. The role will offer an opportunity to contribute to the evolution of DAWN examination guidelines and to make a meaningful contributions to both DAWN and  TCD organisations while gaining valuable experience in systems development, communications, and project management.

Requirements

  • Current student connected with the Trinity Disability Service.
  • Have own laptop.

Responsibilities to include

  • Develop and improve the MS SharePoint or other system for streamlined document management and communication.
  • Review DAWN Listserv system to make changes and improvements
  • Create a dynamic communication plan for DAWN, including strategy and content development.
  • Design templates for reports, presentations, and communications to standardise DAWN's output.
  • Set up and manage a shared calendar highlighting key dates for DAWN members.
  • Collaborate with the DAWN examination team or nominee to refine examination guidelines and create awareness and training materials.
  • Conduct surveys to identify training needs among members and write detailed reports on findings.
  • Present findings and project outcomes to the executive team, showcasing developed materials and systems enhancements.
  • Research international disability officer networks such as UK NADP and US AHEAD to see what areas can be used by DAWN.

The successful candidate will have some prior experience in these skills and an interest in developing them further:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • High degree of independence, flexibility, initiative and commitment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good time management and organisational skills and the ability to demonstrate initiative
  • Report writing, analytical and time management skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to analyse & review of large amounts of information
  • Understanding of accessibility requirements, particularly for online content
  • Website content management
