Update: 6th October 2023
Blackboard have released an update to fix the issue. Users can update the app to the latest release (8.8.1 on Android and 8.8.2 on iOS) to resolve the issue.

IT Services are aware of an issue with the Blackboard mobile app, where some students are being asked to re-sign in after a few hours. It should be possible to stay signed in for several weeks.
This issue has been reported by several other universities as well and relates to a recent update to the app.
IT Services have reported the issue to Blackboard support who have advised it is a known issue and that they are working on a fix but there is not an exact date for this as yet.
