This is a four year full-time undergraduate degree which offers a comprehensive curriculum covering various aspects of computing, including programming, algorithms, software engineering, and artificial intelligence. Students gain practical skills and theoretical knowledge to pursue diverse careers in the dynamic field of computer science.
- Computer Science (Business, Economics, Geography, Linguistics)- B.A. (Moderatorship) Joint Honours Bachelor Degree (NFQ Level 8)
Each of the Computer Science Joint Honours combinations offers unique opportunities where the subjects intersect. Students studying Computer Science and Geography may have a particular interest in geographic information systems, spatial data or “smart cities”. The combined study of Computer Science and Linguistics yields opportunities for graduates to specialise in computational speech and language processing or text analysis. Combining Computer Science with Economics will allow graduates to use computing tools to study economics and to apply economic theories to computational settings, such as to build virtual marketplaces. Our long-running Computer Science and Business joint programme provides graduates with the knowledge and expertise needed to work in the technical field of Computer Science along with the business management skills required to understand the fundamentals of markets, organisations and business management.

- Engineering with Management - B.Sc.(Ing) Honours Bachelor Degree (NFQ Level 8), Optional: M.A.I. (NFQ Level 9)
Engineering with Management integrates engineering principles with management skills to develop well-rounded professionals. Students gain expertise in engineering disciplines alongside business management, preparing them to lead engineering projects and excel in management roles within the engineering industry.
- Geography (JH)- B.A. Honours Bachelor Degree (NFQ Level 8)
The joint honours degree in Geography offers a comprehensive curriculum covering human and physical geography, environmental issues, and spatial analysis. Students gain a broad understanding the complexities and challenges of our world, preparing them for diverse careers in environmental management, urban planning, and research. Geography is studied as a Joint Honours subject with one of the following options: Ancient History and Archaeology, Economics, Computer Science, History, Modern Language (French, Italian, German, Russian), Sociology, or Political Science.
- Geography and Geoscience - B.A. (Moderatorship) Honours Bachelor Degree (NFQ Level 8)
Geography and Geoscience combines the study of human geography with earth science disciplines like geology and environmental science. Students explore the interactions between humans and the natural environment, gaining valuable insights for careers in environmental research, resource management, and more.
- Biological and Biomedical Sciences - B.A. (Moderatorship)
This programme offers a comprehensive study of core biological concepts, including cell biology, genetics, evolution, anatomy, and environmental biology. Students develop mathematical, statistical, and computational skills, while exploring the history and ethics of science. In the third year, they specialise in one of 11 disciplines (Biochemistry; Botany; Environmental Science; Genetics; Human Genetics; Immunology; Microbiology; Molecular Medicine; Neuroscience; Physiology; Zoology), with the opportunity for interdisciplinary study. In the fourth year, students pursue advanced topics and conduct research projects, honing problem-solving and communication skills.
- Environmental Science and Engineering - B.A. (Moderatorship)
Environmental Science and Engineering is a new integrated undergraduate with postgraduate degree course that aims to train the next generation of graduates who have the competencies, knowledge and experience necessary to design and deploy solutions that protect and improve our environment and human wellbeing, and that work with rather than against the natural world to foster biodiversity, climate action and sustainable use of Earth’s finite resources. This new integrated degree programme is delivered through the expertise of two Schools (School of Natural Science and the School of Engineering).
