Welcome to this interdisciplinary conference organized by the Department of Hispanic Studies, Trinity College Dublin.

At the recent Berlin International Film Festival women directors gained support when they highlighted the fact that the contribution of women to the industry continues to be under-represented at all major film festivals. And, this occasion serves as a reminder that in the fields of theatre and television also, the work of women is still undervalued.

The conference hopes to provide a forum to debate, reflect on, and celebrate the impact of women as producers, directors, actors or as inspiration to some of the most memorable works in the arts of theatre, cinema, and television.
