RESEARCH INTEREST:
I am a molecular biologist with research interests in population genetics and genomics. My work utilises degraded DNA from archaeological and museum collection specimens, in conjunction with modern genomes, to investigate genetic variation and demography over time. My research varies from the small bumblebee to the large aurochs. My current work focuses on cattle domestication, in particular the development of cattle from Northwestern Europe; from the early domestic cattle that arrived in the region with the Neolithic, through to the present day production animals we see in the fields.
