Professor Mark Ward joins Department of SociologyProf Ward brings with him a prestigious ERC Consolidator Grant (2026–2031) for his project, GLOMoL: A Global study of the macro- and individual-level causes and consequences of loneliness. GLOMol explores the reasons for international differences in loneliness. -
UN's Tom Fletcher delivers 2026 Henry Grattan Lecture in LondonThe Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs focused on immigration, international order and the moral responsibilities of citizenship. Professor Gail McElroy moderated the Q&A for the Lecture at the Embassy of Ireland in London. -
