Travel Bursary Report April 2023 - Simone Arrigoni
Simone is a 4th Year PhD candidate in the Department of Economics, School of Social Sciences and Philosophy.
The TRiSS Travel Bursary enabled me to present my paper, "The Long and the Short of it: Inheritance and Wealth in Ireland" at the Tenth Meeting of the Society for the Study of Economic Inequality (ECINEQ) in Aix-en-Provence in July 2023.
ECINEQ serves as an international forum for researchers interested in the study of economic inequality and related fields, fostering a convergence of diverse perspectives.
The paper I presented delves into the role of inherited wealth in contributing to wealth inequality in Ireland. Receiving feedback from scholars who are experts in the field proved immensely beneficial to the paper's development. Additionally, attending the conference provided an excellent opportunity to expand my network with researchers who share similar research interests.
All of the above experiences would not have been possible without the funding provided by TRiSS. If you are interested in delving further into the details of the paper, a working paper version is available here.
