Travel Bursary Report April 2023 - Şeyma Çelik
Şeyma is a 3rd Year PhD candidate in the Department of Sociology, School of Social Sciences and Philosophy.
The TRiSS travel bursary contributed to my presentation of the paper, “Socioeconomic Inequalities, Problematic Social Media Use, and Adolescent Mental Well-Being: Cross-National Evidence from 40 Countries”, at the European Consortium for Sociological Research (ECSR) Annual Conference in Prague in September 2023.
The fund allowed me to travel to the Czech Republic to participate in this highly relevant event for Sociology. I had the opportunity to discuss this paper and get invaluable feedback from the audience and the experts in the field. Participating in the conference has given me the necessary feedback to get in a position where I can conclude my paper which is an essential part of my dissertation.
The connections I made during the conference have opened doors for potential collaborations and inspired my future research as well. I am truly thankful to TRiSS for the financial assistance, helping me develop and share my academic network.
