Biography

I am currently in the fourth year of my PhD studies at TCD. I received my Master degree in political science at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden and my Bachelor degree in political science at the University of Belgrade, Serbia.

Research Interests

Comparative politics, political psychology, political behaviour, political participation, state legitimacy, support for democracy, corruption and clientelism, politics and digital technologies, political trust, causal inference, experimental methods.

Doctoral Thesis Summary

In my thesis I am examining why some citizens express high levels of state legitimacy in countries with lower levels of quality of government. I look at external factors, such as visa regimes imposed by foreign countries and argue, using system justification theory, that citizens would report higher levels of state legitimacy if their possibilities for emigration are restricted. I rely on experiments, secondary survey data and interviews in order to answer my research question.
