Caroline Jagoe
Caroline Jagoe, co-founder of the SADIE Network, is Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Speech and Language Studies, Trinity College Dublin. Caroline is the academic lead of the WFP-TCD partnership and PI of the IRC Laureate funded project Co-Construct which addresses communication access. With a clinical background in speech and language therapy, she has worked in the public health system in South Africa and in Ireland, and has conducted research on disability inclusion and social integration in collaboration with partners in countries such as Ethiopia, Iraq, Mozambique and Somalia. Her research addresses participation of people who are frequently marginalised in research and programming, with a specific expertise in supporting inclusion of people with communication disabilities.
Claire O'Reilly
Claire O'Reilly, co-founder of the SADIE Network, is a Research Fellow at Trinity College Dublin and member of the research team in partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme. A Physiotherapist by background, Claire is a rehabilitation and public health specialist whose experience in humanitarian and development settings began in 2013, in response to the Syrian civil war. She has served with UN agencies and INGO's in the Middle East, South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. For over a decade Claire has worked in clinical service provision and disability- and health-service related research, focused on injury and disability in conflict and post-conflict settings. Claire's current research focuses on the accessibility and relevance of humanitarian action to the needs of persons with disabilities. She holds a BSc Physiotherapy from University College Dublin, an MPH from the University of Liverpool, and is completing her PhD on inclusive humanitarian action and change processes at Trinity College Dublin, under the supervision of Dr Caroline Jagoe.
Elizabeth Heideman
Elizabeth Heideman is a PhD candidate at Trinity College Dublin. She has a background in human rights. Her current work addresses empowerment programmes for persons with disabilities across the triple nexus, where she is developing a context-sensitive account of how and why these programmes work.
