TRiSS hosts public event on East West Relations, 30 years since the Fall of the Berlin Wall
On November 14th, TRiSS hosted a special event to commemorate the anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall. The journalist and broadcaster Charlie Bird chaired the session.
From the Department of Political Science, Prof. Olar will investigate: the legacy of autocratic rule on people's democratic satisfaction. From the same Department, Prof. Jacqueline Hayden discussed her personal experience as a journalist in Poland and as a Political Scientist, her analysis entitled: Exploring the seeds of populism: Poland's Troubled Transition.
Prof. Balazs Apor, the director of the Centre of European Studies at Trinity College Dublin talked about Viktor Orban, the leadership he represents and the emerging cult around him, and set this in context of Putin and Berlusconi.
