TRiSS Bitesize Talk and Pizza - Technology and Society
Trinity Research in Social Sciences Bitesize Talks and Pizza is back again after a two year hiatus, on Wednesday 1 November, 1- 2pm at the TRiSS Seminar Room.
These Bitesize Talks are a great way to learn about what colleagues across different disciplines are doing on similar themes. This session's theme is Technology and Society. Our speakers will give a short 10 minute presentation on their work, and answer any questions you might have.
Dr Maria Grazia Porcedda from School of Law, TCD, and Brian Hurley, UL, will be talking about Parliament's approach to tech developments that have cybersecurity implications, with a focus on pandemic times as a case study and critical discourse analysis as a method.
Dr Marco T. Bastos, Ad Astra Fellow, School of Information and Communication Studies, UCD, will be discussing the network structure of disinformation cascades.
Dr Carina Girvan, School of Education, TCD, will provide an overview of her research on emerging technologies in education and consider the disjuncture between classroom practice and research.
There is no charge for this in-person event but you must register by Monday 30 October, 12 noon, to ensure we have enough pizza! Please RSVP to triss@tcd.ie. Spaces are limited.
