Public event: East-West Relations, 30 years on from the Cold War

To commemorate the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall, TRiSS is hosting a public event entitled "East-West relations, 30 years on from the Cold War" on November 14th at 7pm in the Synge Theatre in the Arts building. The journalist and broadcaster Charlie Bird will chair the session.
From the Department of Political Science, Prof. Hayden will discuss "Exploring the seeds of populism: Poland's Troubled Transition" Prof. Olar will investigate "the legacy of autocratic rule on people's democratic satisfaction."
Prof. Balazs Apor of European Studies will talk about Viktor Orban, the leadership he represents and the emerging cult around him, and set this in context of Putin and Berlusconi. .
