10 am Wednesday 15th April “Chariots of Fire” Race

This is one of the highlights of Trinity Week and an event of longstanding in Trinity’s calendar since 1857. On its 50th Anniversary in 1909, it was made the centrepiece of the newly created Trinity Week and has remained the regular Wednesday attraction of the festivities ever since. This is a great opportunity for the Trinity College Harriers and Athletics Club to showcase their activity and get the College Community Involved.

2pm- 5pm Wednesday 15th April College Races

The first modern athletic meeting in Ireland was held in College Park in 1857. Such was the popularity of this event a second meeting was held within a month. The event became an annual affair known as College Races. Dublin University Harriers and Athletics Club will organise this year’s races - all weather and grounds permitting!

2pm Thursday 16th April Soccer Mega League Final

The Mega League final is the highlight of the student casual soccer league. During term, student teams battle it out to earn a place in the final and win the Mega League Cup.

3pm Friday 17th April Annual Hockey Match - Coulson Cup

The Coulson Trophy was presented in the early 1990s in memory of Denis Coulson, captain of Trinity’s most successful hockey team from the mid 1930s and is between Dublin University HC President's XI and the Three Rock Rovers HC President's XI. The game has traditionally been held on the Friday of Trinity Week on the hockey grass pitch in front of the Pavilion in College Park, where hockey has been played by Ireland’s oldest hockey club since 1893.
