This year, the Hub has appointed 10 fellows from 7 different countries, focusing on research projects that include linguistics and voice personalisation, colonialism and 'decolonizing’, propaganda and fantasy literature, a history of British intelligence, US politics, the ethics of imitation, racism and judicial review, and experimental approaches to audience engagement. Professor Abeer Alwan, University of California, Dr Yevheniia Orestivna Kanchura, from Ukraine’s Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University, and Public Engagement Fellow Laura Allcorn joined us during our recent Trinity Arts and Humanities Research Festival and took part in its programmed events. Professor Sean Doyle Moore, University of New Hampshire, is also already in situ, while the remaining fellows will join the Institute throughout the academic year.
Professor Eve Patten, Director of the Trinity Long Room Hub, welcomed the new fellows, adding, “the fellows contribute enormously to the Trinity Long Room Hub community, engaging with our member schools, delivering talks, speaking at our coffee mornings and interacting with our early career researchers, something that they often mention as a highlight. Of course, many of our fellows are drawn to Trinity to work on the wonderful archives and manuscripts within Trinity’s Library. We look forward to meeting our new fellows and seeing the impact of these projects as they progress.”
