Women in Research Conference

A conference organised by women in research, TCD.

Are you interested in attending a Women in Research Week ahead of International Women's Rights Day on March 8th? Women researchers across Trinity—from early-career researchers to professors—will come together to showcase their work and highlight the contributions of women from our research community at Trinity College Dublin. The week will feature a portrait exhibition, talks, conferences, meetings with academic institutions, networking sessions, publications, and discussions.

Thursday, March 6th:
The Women in Research Conference (1:30 - 5:30 PM) at the Trinity Long Room Hub features three panels:

• Gender-Based Research in Academia: explores literature, medicine, and societal issues.
• Interwoven Paths: examines how researchers' backgrounds shape their work, with a focus on diversity and the Global South.
• The Journey of Women in Academia: highlights personal experiences and challenges in the field.

Monday, March 3rd:
The week kicks off with an Opening Ceremony (11:00 AM - 12:00 PM) at the Trinity Long Room Hub, featuring an address by the Dean of Research representative and discussions on the impact of women in research and academia. A Portrait Exhibition launches in the Arts Building, showcasing women researchers, and ResearchMATTERS will publish blog posts and journals highlighting their contributions.
Tuesday, March 4th:
The Portrait Exhibition continues, with an all-day screening projection in the Arts Building. In the evening, a Mentoring Session and Networking Event (5:00-7:00 PM) at TRISS will be led by Professor Na Fu (Trinity Business School), offering career insights and opportunities to connect over snacks and drinks.
Wednesday, March 5th:
The Portrait Exhibition remains open, and the Art+Feminism 2025 Editathon (1:00 - 4:30 PM) at the TCD Library invites participants to contribute to Wikipedia by editing and creating pages focused on women artists.
Friday, March 7th:
The week concludes with the Official Launch of the Women in Research Network, TCD, a recap of key takeaways, and preparation of the motion for “Women in Research Week 2025.”
