'Resilient Women: Thriving in their own Time'

Date: 12 Feb - 12 Feb 2025
Time: 14:30 - 16:00
Venue: Neill Lecture Theatre, Trinity Long Room Hub

A lecture by the Network for the Study of Resilient Women (Anna Devlin, Rachel Killeen, Joan Kavanagh and Morgan Wait) as part of the Modern and Contemporary Irish History Seminar Series.

A group of early career researchers from the Arts & Humanities at Trinity College Dublin came together in 2024 to form the Network for the Study of Resilient Women. We had each encountered individual women archivally who had exercised resilience in the face of extreme emotional, physical,
social, or political trauma and decided to advance their personal narratives. Collaboratively, the Network examines women’s resilience-building strategies while seeking to understand the skillset and attributes pivotal to their resilience, as well as their application, implications, and perceptions. https://resilientwomenie.wordpress.com/about/

The Modern and Contemporary Irish History Seminar Series will take place at 2.30p.m. on Wednesday in the Trinity Long Room Hub Arts & Humanities Research Institute. It provides a forum for discussion and dissemination of new ideas, perspectives, and research on Irish history, Irish Studies and cognate disciplines. All are welcome. We particularly welcome members of the postgraduate community. Convenors: Dr Carole Holohan, Dr Ciaran O'Neill, Dr Georgina Laragy, Prof Lindsey Earner-Byrne.
