A lecture by Dr Leanne Calvert (University of Limerick) as part of the Modern and Contemporary Irish History Seminar Series.

Leanne Calvert is an Assistant Professor in Irish History and Director of the MA History of Family at the University of Limerick. She has published extensively on Irish family life in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. With Maeve O'Riordan, Leanne co-led the ESRC/IRC funded project Reconstituting the Irish Family Research Network project (RIFNET). The research for this paper is drawn from her forthcoming book, under contract with the Royal Irish Academy, Promiscuous Presbyterians. Family Life in Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century Ulster. Leanne is currently working on her second book, Sex, Scandal and Sin: Presbyterians in Ireland and North America, 1717-1830.

The Modern and Contemporary Irish History Seminar Series will take place at 2.30p.m. on Wednesday in the Trinity Long Room Hub Arts & Humanities Research Institute. It provides a forum for discussion and dissemination of new ideas, perspectives, and research on Irish history, Irish Studies and cognate disciplines. All are welcome.
