Haunting Reform: Older Women, English Good Shepherd Institutions and the State After 1947

A lecture by Prof Máiréad Enright as part of the Modern and Contemporary Irish History Seminar Series.

About the Speaker:
Máiréad Enright is Professor of Feminist Legal Studies at the University of Birmingham, where she has worked since 2016. She has published widely on issues related to reproductive justice and historical abuse in religious-run institutions, particularly in Ireland. Much of her work draws on humanities methodologies and recent projects have involved archival research, collaborations with working artists and prefigurative or experimental drafting. 

The Modern and Contemporary Irish History Seminar Series will take place at 2.30p.m. on Wednesday in the Trinity Long Room Hub Arts & Humanities Research Institute. It provides a forum for discussion and dissemination of new ideas, perspectives, and research on Irish history, Irish Studies and cognate disciplines. All are welcome. We particularly welcome members of the postgraduate community.
