Festival of Italian and Irish Literature in Ireland

The Festival of Italian and Irish Literature in Ireland – FIILI – is organized by the Italian Cultural Institute in Dublin, Irish PEN/PEN na hÉireann and  Trinity College Dublin with the support of Literature Ireland, Trinity Centre for Literary and Cultural Translation, Trinity Long Room Hub, Embassy of Switzerland in Ireland and the Society of Italian Studies for the UK and Ireland. Partners: International Books, NewItalianBooks, Discover Irish Children’s Books and The Company of Books.

The theme of the Festival’s second edition is ‘Wor(l)ds of Change’ and will feature several panels of Italian and Irish authors in conversation.

On Saturday 28th September, the Festival will be held at the Trinity Long Room Hub, with an impressive lineup of Irish and Italian writers including Domenico Starnone, Sinéad Gleeson, Igiaba Scego, Andrea Fazioli (Switzerland), Éanna Ní Lamhna, Laura Imai Messina, Rónán Hession, Stephen Sexton, Dario Levantino, Franca Mancinelli, Viviana Fiorentino, Andrea Carter, Fabio Deotto, Celia de Fréine. Among the moderators, Irish writers Catherine Dunne and Neil Hegarty, the Director of the Association Notre Italie (Bordeaux), Stefania Glockner Graziano, and the Director of IIC Dublin Marco Gioacchini.

Simultaneous translation Italian-English-Italian will be available on the 28th September.

FIILI is curated by Catherine Dunne (Irish PEN/PEN na hÉireann), Enrica Ferrara (TCD), and Marco Gioacchini (IIC).

Admission is free without reservation, subject to availability.
