Institute Board
The Institute Board is our governance body and meets three to four times a year.
Mr Bill Emmott was appointed chair of the Institute Board in January 2019. He is a writer and consultant best known for his 13 years as editor in chief of The Economist.
Professor Geoffrey Crossick was the previous chair from 2010 to 2018.
This body comprises five external members, the Dean of Research, AHSS Faculty Dean, and representatives of our constituent partners. It approves policy and strategy, monitors progress against our targets and how risks are being addressed, evaluates our added value and governance, reviews finances and provides advice about how best to sustain our activities (both financial and leadership).
