External Advisory Panel

The External Advisory Panel comprises distinguished scholars from comparable research Institutes and meets in Trinity bi-annually. The Panel provides guidance about research strategy and best global practice. The 2023-25 EAP:

Nadia Al Bagdadi, Professor of Islamic History, Central European University and Director of the Institute for Advanced Studies. 

Premesh Lalu, Professor of History at the University of the Western Cape, South Africa and former Director of the Centre for Humanities Research. 

Bernd Kortmann, Professor of English Language and Linguistics at the University of Freiburg, Germany and Director of the FRIAS for the Humanities and Social Sciences.

Rick Rylance, Emeritus Professor of English Literature; Director of the Institute of English Studies (2015-17) and Dean of the School of Advanced Study, University of London, 2017-20.

Debjani Ganguly, Professor of English and Director of the Institute of the Humanities and Global Cultures at the University of Virginia.

Simon Goldhill, Professor in Greek literature and culture and fellow and Director of Studies in Classics at King's College, Cambridge. Director of CRASSH (the Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities) from 2011 to 2018.
