This webinar explores Ireland's progress in shifting from traditional, institutional nursing home settings to a more home-like, community-integrated models of care. This transformation, accelerated by lessons learned during the COVID-19 pandemic, aims to create environments where older adults can thrive in more personalised, comfortable, and joyful settings. The discussion delves into the key challenges - such as staffing, regulatory frameworks, and financial constraints - as well as the opportunities for innovation, such as incorporating technology, redesigning care practices, and fostering deeper community connections to place nursing homes at the heart of local life.

The online webinar will take place on November 13th, 2024 from 12-1pm EDT (17:00 GMT) and will be hosted by Dr Ann Coyle, a retired health professional and advocate who brings extensive experience in innovation and change management and is now focusing on projects aimed at redesigning policy and practice in nursing homes and supported housing for older adults, with a focus on technology supports.
