At TrinityHaus, we’re excited to host Vamsi Krishna Boyanagari for his secondment as part of the HOMEDEM doctoral research network. Vamsi is a Marie Curie Research Fellow and PhD student at the Irish Centre for Social Gerontology, J.E. Cairnes School of Business & Economics, University of Galway. His research, funded under the MSCA by the European Commission, is focused on improving the lives of people with dementia through design and technology.
Vamsi’s PhD, titled “Autonomous living for people with dementia: Resource Allocation and the role of Design and Technology,” explores factors promoting independent living at home for individuals with dementia. He is also researching on public’s preferences and their willingness to pay for new psychosocial dementia care models in Ireland.
At TrinityHaus, Vamsi will be mentored by our team, led by TrinityHaus Research Fellow Tom Grey, to delve into the design aspects of homes that foster independent living. During his time with us, he will gain insights into Universal Design guidelines, relevant policies, and practical approaches to designing dementia-inclusive living environments. This knowledge will support Vamsi in developing and refining the choice attributes and levels for his Discrete Choice Experiment Survey, a key part of his research.
TrinityHaus is happy to support Vamsi’s secondment and be an active associated partner in the HOMEDEM consortium. We believe this collaboration will yield valuable insights and contribute to meaningful research in dementia care and inclusive design.
