Meadbh Childs (Civil Engineering, Trinity College Dublin) wins the Sean de Courcy Student Award at the 40th Irish Concrete Society Awards

With over 250 attendees, the Irish Concrete Society's 40th Annual Awards evening was held at the Clayton Hotel in Dublin on 25th March, with the Society's Chair, Prof. Roger West of Trinity Haus, Trinity College Dublin acting as Master of Ceremonies.

The Sean de Courcy Student Award recipient was Meabh Childs, MAI graduate in Civil Engineering whose dissertation investigated the enhancement of the bond characteristics of sustainabile bamboo beams using an optimised notching arrangedment in the individual bamboo culms, a project which was supervised by Prof. West.

Meabh is a Graduate Structural Engineer working with Punch Consulting Engineers in Dublin.
