Children’s Literature Summer School
The Children’s Literature Summer School, led by lecturers and researchers in the School of English at Trinity College Dublin, gives you the chance to deepen your knowledge and enhance your appreciation of children’s literature
Date: Friday 8th June & Saturday 9th June 2018
Location: Neill Lecture Theatre, Trinity Long Room Hub
Cost: €150 (€100 student tickets), Book your place via Eventbrite
The summer school is taught through lectures, which open up key areas for investigation, and workshops which give participants the opportunity to examine and discuss specific texts and to test a variety of approaches to children’s books. Staff will guide you through critical material and show you how familiar books can still surprise and delight us.
The programme also includes a special tour of Trinity’s old library, and a hands-on session with the Pollard Collection of Children’s Literature – a vast collection of over 10,000 children’s books.
The summer school will be of special interest to teachers, students, educationalists and children’s literature enthusiasts.
