The workshop presented results from the latest impact evaluations that have been carried out in the field of education. The workshop took place over one and a half days and was preceded by an optional one-day statistics boot-camp on the 27th August to help prepare participants with less quantitative backgrounds. The workshop began on August 30th with an overview of the methodologies used for impact evaluation, covering both experimental and non-experimental methods. This session assumed some prior familiarity with these methods and acted as a refresher course upon which the sessions of the next day built. The sessions on the 31st August ran for the full day and went into greater detail on the use of the methods for impact evaluation, using the latest research in the field of education as examples. Topics covered in the workshop focused on the roles of the key actors involved in the education sector, namely, students, teachers, parents and schools.
