TIME Annual Lectures 2023 Professor Kate Orkin
Associate Professor in Economics and Public Policy at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford.
Professor Kate Orkin presented on “Mental Health and Development”
The 2023 TIME Annual Lecture will be delivered by Prof. Kate Orkin, Associate Professor in Economics and Public Policy at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford and affiliate at the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (JPAL), the Institute of Labour Economics (IZA), and the Centre for the Study of African Economies.
Orkin’s research expertise lies in the domains of labor, public, behavioral, and development economics, where she studies market failures or patterns in decision-making that prevent people in low- and middle- income countries from finding work or improving their earnings over time. Orkin collaborates closely with NGOs and governments to develop new interventions geared towards tackling these market failures, and tests the interventions in large-scale field experiments.
