Exploring Co-Learning: TCPID, School of Education and School of English
The Co-Learning Module is a unique educational initiative that brings together students from TCPID, studying a Level 5 Certificate in Arts, Science, and Inclusive Applied Practice (ASIAP), with Level 8 undergraduate students from the School of English at TCD.
Throughout the Hilary Teaching Term 2024, TCPID students volunteered to participate in an Irish Writing Module within the School of English. Each week, they engaged in bridging lectures alongside academic staff and Co-Learning Champions. These sessions provided a foundation for exploring various pieces of literature and texts, preparing them for subsequent lectures and tutorials with undergraduate students.
By fostering collaboration between students from different academic backgrounds, the Co-Learning Module aims to promote inclusive education and enhance learning outcomes for all participants.
In the video, we hear from students Al Martin and Conor Quinn from TCPID, School of Education, about their experience of the module. Additionally, academic staff from the School of English share their experience of teaching the module, and Co-Learning Champions offer their insights. This project was funded under PATH 4 via the Higher Education Authority (HEA) and the Department of Further and Higher Education Research Innovation and Science (DFHERIS).
Special thanks to Provost of TCD, Dr. Linda Doyle, for her endorsement of this project.
