All We Want to Say

This is the first national inclusive research project conducted in Ireland.

This project aimed to find out:

      • what life is like for people with intellectual disabilities in Ireland
      • how the lives of people with intellectual disabilities could be better.

      This project was done in collaboration with:

      • National Institute for Intellectual Disability (NIID), Trinity College Dublin
      • University of Ulster
      • Co- researchers with intellectual disabilities throughout Ireland and supporters.

Part 1

Life in Ireland for people with Intellectual Disabilities

Co - researchers with intellectual disabilities conducted focus groups in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland to find out what life was like for people with intellectual disabilities.

The second part was about presenting the findings of the All We Want to Say project.

The second part of the All We Want to Say was also about working with committees to bring about change.

Telling people what we found out


We made presentations of how we did the All We Want to Say study and what we found out.

We launched a report and DVD at the NIID, Trinity College, Dublin on Monday December 14th, 2009.
