Conor Mc Guckin
Conor is Director of the Trinity Centre for People with Intellectual Disabilities. He graduated from the University of Ulster with a B.Sc. (Hons.: First Class) in Psychology and Organizational Science, and from the Open University with a B.Sc. (Open) degree and gained his Ph.D. in Psychology for his research exploring bully/victim problems among school pupils across Northern Ireland. He is a Chartered Psychologist (CPsychol) with The British Psychological Society), a Chartered Psychologist (C.Psychol.Ps.S.I.) with The Psychological Society of Ireland, and a Chartered Scientist (CSci) with The British Science Council.
Conor is also an Associate Fellow of both The British Psychological Society (AFBPsS) and The Psychological Society of Ireland (A.F.Ps.S.I.). He has a long history of involvement in, and leadership of, national and international research and applied practice projects and is a recognised international expert in relation to national funding initiatives (e.g., External Expert for the Portuguese government’s Foundation for Science and Technology [FCT]).
Conor has published, co-edited, and co-authored nine books, 66 book chapters, 83 research papers, and has had his work presented at over 250 national and international conferences. He has supervised 14 Ph.D. / D.Ed. candidates to completion and has been involved in the external examination of 20 theses and internal examination of 15 theses at this level.
