TCPID Summer School 2024

The TCPID hosted its annual Summer School from the 18th to the 20th of June 2024 at Trinity College Dublin. This year, the programme welcomed 25 participants, including five students from the Clemson LIFE programme at Clemson University, South Carolina who were on a study abroad programme.

Throughout the three-day event, students engaged in a variety of activities designed to be both educational and enjoyable. The programme began with a scavenger hunt that helped participants explore and become familiar with the historic Trinity College campus. This was followed by an acting and drama session, encouraging creativity and self-expression.

Students also took part in diverse taster classes, including personal development, knowing your rights, and fencing. These sessions aimed to equip them with valuable life skills and knowledge, while promoting physical fitness and fun through various sports activities.

The focus on wellness was highlighted with a yoga session, and participants had the chance to learn basic Italian in a language class. A special segment of the programme included a meet-and-greet with TCPID graduates, who shared their experiences and insights about the Arts, Science, and Inclusive Applied Practice (ASIAP) course.

The Summer School concluded with a pizza party and a fun quiz, creating an enjoyable atmosphere that left everyone with fond memories and new friendships. The TCPID Summer School 2024 was a success, offering participants a well-rounded experience that combined education, recreation, and community building in the vibrant setting of Trinity College Dublin.
