TCPID Scholarship Celebration Event with the Provost
On Tuesday January 14th, we were honoured to be hosted by Provost Linda Doyle in the Senior Common Room in Trinity College Dublin to celebrate the TCPID scholarship recipients for 2024. Our three TCPID scholarship programmes are:
The Margaret McLoughlin Scholarship
The Timothy Dimka Scholarship, sponsored by Smurfit Westrock
The Provost Scholarship
Guests included our 8 TCPID students, along with their parents, Joan, Tony, Kieran and Louise McLoughlin, Claire Coleman and Miriam O'Connor from Smurfit Westrock, as well as reprentatives from the TCPID and School of Education team.
The Provost welcomed everyone to the celebration event and thanked all the donors for their sponsorship of these generous scholarship programmes. She then called up each of the scholarship recipients for an individual handshake and photo.
Two of the students, Makayla Bradley and Conor O'Donnell said a few words about how much they are enjoying their time in Trinity College and thanked the scholarship donors for their generosity.
Sheila Martin said a few words of thank you on behalf of all the parents.
Joan McLoughlin then spoke about her daughter Margaret and how happy she would be to see the students benefitting from a schlarship in her memory.
Miriam O'Connor from Smurfit Westrock then spoke about their partnership with the TCPID and how happy they are to be sponsoring the scholarship in memory of Timothy Dimka.
Guests enjoyed some delicious food and had the opportunity to chat with each other in the beautiful surroundings of the Senior Common Room.
The event was a huge success and we are so incredibly grateful to our Provost and her team for putting it together for us.
