Photovoice Exhibition
First year TCPID students in the Human Rights module, led by Dr. Donatella Camedda, launched their College Voices Photovoice exhibition on May 18, 2023. The exhibition was on display in the large pod in the Arts block for one month, showcasing our students hard work and their voices through photography.
As students learned about Human Rights this year, they were particularly interested in the right to education. To explore this further, students determined three major themes they related to as college students: Making New Friends, Getting a Job, and Achieving Your Goals. Each student photographed something that represented each of these themes to them and wrote beautiful captions that showed the message behind their photo.
Students also had the opportunity to learn about accessibility in their exhibition, ensuring that each photo had alt text - a description of each image for those who are blind or have low vision. In their exhibition, there were QR codes available to scan, where visitors could listen to the students read their captions and alt text.
Congratulations to all the first-year students on their exhibition!
