New Level 5 Certificate in Arts, Science and Inclusive Applied Practice

We are delighted to announce that our new 2 year certificate course in Arts, Science and Inclusive Applied Practice is now aligned to Level 5 on the National Framework of Qualifications. This course has just been accredited by the University Council of Trinity College Dublin. Students will now, for the first time, receive a formal Level 5 award upon graduating. This will allow them to compete for jobs and admission to further education on an equal level with other graduates.

The new curriculum offers students a high academic standard of learning. The course objective is to realise the full potential of the students with intellectual disabilities. It will help to develop a broad range of skills across a comprehensive curriculum, including preparing graduates to work in diverse employment settings. This re-conceptualised course is rooted in evidence-based research and aims to provide students with the independent living skills needed to become full participants in Irish society.

A new work placement video is currently in final production and will be available to view on our website later this year. This video has been developed in association with our business partners and students. It highlights the impact that the work placements have had on our students and their mentors in our business partners.

We are delighted to work with all of our business partners and recognise their importance in ensuring the continued success of the TCPID. We will be further engaging with all of our partners over the coming months, with a business breakfast event planned for late October in association with the Trinity Development and Alumni team. Bank of Ireland have very kindly offered to host this event with us.
