TCPID Annual Business Partners Meeting November 30th 2023
Thank you to all our TCPID Business Partners who joined us in the Trinity Long Room Hub in Trinity College Dublin on Thursday November 30th for our annual meeting. It was a fantastic morning, working with you to share knowledge and experiences with each other.
Our TCPID Director, Professor Michael Shevlin welcomed everyone to the meeting and thanked all our business partners for their continued support. TCPID Pathways Coordinator, Marie Devitt then gave a special mention to the 7 new business partners who have signed up with us over the past year and outlined the format for the day.
TCPID Occupational Therapist Emer Murphy, along with two 4th year TCD Occupational Therapy students, Molly Gallagher and Lisa Gallagher delivered a wonderful presentation about working with, and supporting people with intellectual disabilities in the workplace. Molly and Lisa have been working with us as part of their 4th year placement since September, but will be finishing up with us now to return to the classroom for their final semester.Following the Occupational Therapy presentation, the TCPID Business Partners were then divided into groups to use the information to instruct and support a TCPID student to complete a sample task. Thank you to the amazing 2nd year students who volunteered to help us run this task with the business partners.
We had a fantastic discussion for the last hour of the meeting to refect on the task and to explore ways for us to improve support for our students and graduates within the workplace.
We are so incredibly grateful to all of our partners for your constant support for our students and graduates. Together we are helping to create a better working world with true inclusion and belonging for all.
