Welcome to the Accreditation Process
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) learning activities involve a planned learning experience and are designed to promote the continual development of knowledge, skills and attitudes on the part of the practitioner. Standards for accreditation of formal education and training programmes are important to assure the educational quality of a programme that registrants undertake to maintain competence or in order to refresh or enhance their knowledge to ready themselves for an expanded role and scope.
The School of Nursing & Midwifery makes a major contribution to evidence based, high quality healthcare in Ireland. We provide leadership in multi-professional healthcare research, education and practice at local, national and international levels through interdisciplinary input to the design, development and delivery of the courses by a variety of Schools within Trinity College Dublin and by key specialist professionals. Having your programme accreditation with the Trinity Centre for Practice and Healthcare Innovation (TCPHI) at the School of Nursing & Midwifery ensures that you have the instructional, student support and other services in place to assist participants achieve their educational goals. Accreditation allows participants to benchmark provision against recognised quality standards and facilitates transfer and progression of their knowledge. Only associated healthcare providers are eligible to apply for accreditation
