Research Interests

As a research assistant on the 4-Oceans project, Mart is currently using digital tools to explore the archive of the VoC (Dutch East India Company) in search for sources and data on Indonesian and South African fisheries. Besides his work at 4-Oceans, Mart works as a Technical Assistant for the Early Irish Hands research project. Mart holds an a BA in History and an MA in Digital Humanities from the University of Groningen and willl graduate with distinction from Trinity College Dublin with an MPhil in Medieval Studies in 2023.
