Research Interests: Ageing and Intellectual Disability, Natural supports for people with Intellectual Disabilities, Inclusive third level education and Employment for adults with Intellectual Disabilities.

Iara is a Reasearch Assistant on the knowledge translation award project “Building Circles of support for people with Intellectual Disabilities.” Iara previously worked as an Occupational Therapist in the Ability Project in Dublin City University and in the Trinity Centre for people with Intellectual Disabilities supporting students with ID in Campus-based activities and transition to employment. Iara has also worked as a field researcher in the IDS-TILDA Wave 4 data collection and as a Senior Occupational Therapist in the Health Service Executive, HSE for over twelve years.
