- Evaluation Study of the Impact of Implementing a Draft Policy to Develop Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) to Meet Service Need
- Summary
- The aims of this mixed method evaluation are to: 1. measure the activities & impact (direct and indirect) of a critical mass of ANPs to five service areas:(rheumatology, respiratory medicine, older persons care and unscheduled care ED & AMAU, 2. Evaluate the impact of this critical mass on service challenges of access to services, 3.Capture the perspective and experiences of patients and their families; the interdisciplinary teams; the health service organisation and the health system effect of implementation of the critical mass of ANPs, 3. Provide an analysis of the challenges and opportunities arising from this initiative, 4. Assess the economic effectiveness/contribution of the ANP policy and 5. Make recommendations for service, practice and implementation for continuing the rollout of a critical mass of ANP's. This mixed method evaluation is informed by Participatory Evidence-Informed Patient-Centred Process for ANP Role Development (PEPPA) (Bryant-Lukosius & DiCenso, 2004, Bryant-Lukosius et al. 2017).
