Dr Jonathan KS Chiu and Dr Margaret Sau-Sheung Ip Undergraduate Scholarship

Trinity College Dublin medical alumnus Dr Jonathan KS Chiu and his wife Dr Margaret Sau-Sheung Ip have kindly established a scholarship fund to support students from China to complete an undergraduate degree at Trinity.

Award: The scholarship consists of a €5,000 award applied as a reduction to the tuition fees of a full-time undergraduate programme for each year of a four-year undergraduate degree (totalling €20,000).

Who can apply:

Applicants must:

- be citizens and permanent residents of the People’s Republic of China at the time of application;

- have non-EU fee status and will pay non-EU tuition fees;

- have received an offer for an undergraduate degree in Trinity College Dublin (excluding medicine);

- not be in receipt of any other scholarship or financial award.


Selection Criteria: 

The scholarship will be awarded based on academic achievement, the potential impact of the award on the applicant’s future, and the applicant’s potential to contribute to the Trinity College Dublin community.

Please use this subject line for your email: Your name + Trinity Application ID + “Chiu Scholarship”

Please include the following application documents in your email (please ensure all documents include your name and Trinity Application ID):

- Trinity College Dublin offer letter.

- Personal statement outlining the impact that the scholarship would have on your future (max 300 words).

- Statement outlining how you would contribute to the Trinity College Dublin community (max 200 words).

- CV / Resume.
