HADDAD FELLOWSHIP 2024-2025

For Brazilian Postgraduate applicants to
Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin, Ireland

Registration period: 8 January to 15 April

Eligible courses (1 year full-time):

The Haddad Foundation will award up to four scholarships to Brazilian students who wish to pursue one of the above postgraduate courses and who are committed to impacting positively the cultural development in Brazil. Applicants will be assessed according to their academic merit, their potential to contribute to the overall Trinity community and to the scholarship programme and its aims.

The Award

The Fellowship covers one year's worth of international tuition fee (2024-2025) plus €15,000 to be paid as a monthly stipend. The winners should be aware that the stipend will be paid from October 2024 to September 2025 if the relevant forms are correctly filled out by September. If the forms are not complete by the end of September 2024, Trinity College Dublin may have to postpone the disbursement of the scholarship.

The Selection Process

N.B.: When you apply for the HADDAD Fellowship, you must also apply for the desired course through the TCD portal. Applying for the scholarship programme and applying for the course are two roughly simultaneous but fundamentally distinct processes, with distinct deadlines and which require different documents as well. If you register only for the scholarship programme, you are not automatically applying to the university. You will find further information about the course application on the relevant TCD page.

When registration for the HADDAD Fellowship closes, all applications will undergo pre-selection by the Haddad Fellowship. Pre-selected candidates will be invited for interview. On 3 June, the Haddad Fellowship will consult Trinity College Dublin to check the admission status of each candidate. Suitable candidates for the scholarship who do not have an offer of admission from Trinity College will not be considered. Trinity College decision-making process varies across Schools, and it may take months until you hear from the admissions committee, so it is important that you take this into consideration.

N.B.: Candidates applying for any of the three MFA courses and the MPhil in Creative Writing must complete their course application no later than 28 February. The later you apply, the slimmer your chances are of receiving an answer until 3 June. The deadline for scholarship application remains 15 April for all candidates.

  • Registration form. Available online on haddadfellowship.com.
  • CV (preferably Lattes CV).
  • A copy of the candidate’s original transcripts. If the candidate’s overall grade is not shown, a document showing their overall grade must also be presented.

  • English proficiency certificate. Any certificate which is valid according to the standards set by Trinity College Dublin will also be deemed valid by the Haddad Fellowship committee. N.B.: We strongly recommend that you only sit for the English language exam after TCD opens for applications (November), to see whether the English language requirements have changed. While Trinity College Dublin does have an overall standard, individual courses may require a specific certificate or grade. Candidates must read carefully the course website to know what the specific requirements are and contact TCD if they have enquiries on that matter. If the English certificate you present is not valid for TCD, we may not be able to con-
sider your scholarship application. Bear in mind that certificates are only valid for two years."
