Student Testimonials

  • Dale Chen
    MAI Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering

There are many positive experiences of coming to study in Ireland and in Trinity. One of them is the diverse group of students you will meet when you study here. Ireland is an open and welcoming place for international students. In Trinity, over 20% of the students are international students. You will meet and work study alongside with people from different nationalities and cultural background. I find this very beneficial to my personal development.

I decided to study in Trinity because it has it’s an internationally renowned university with great opportunities. It’s at the heart of Dublin city centre, making it very accessible to local amenities and the global companies in Dublin town. Trinity also has a wide range of extracurricular choices and societies that could allow me to develop during my time here. Trinity also has great supports services for international students like the Global Room.

  • Siyi Wang
    Global Business Sophomore
    2018 China Claddagh Scholarship Winner

I was so impressed by the atmosphere and environment of Dublin. Trinity is right in the center of Dublin and you can always see a lot of students walking into the campus with books in their hands. The academic atmosphere in Dublin is quite strong. There are many cafes and restaurants in the neighbourhood of Trinity. Locals or tourists usually have a coffee along the sidewalk café shops. It gives people a lively and vibrant vibe.

The reason I chose to study Global Business is because the experiential learning experience. It emphasizes not only academic knowledge, but also the combination of knowledge and industry experience. At each stage, Global Business has a detailed structure. For example, students need to understand the history and evolution of business, organization and management in their freshman year. It will give you a chance to find out what you are interested in. Then we will have the opportunity to study in 50 universities in 18 countries and experience different cultures in the third year. In my last year, I will also have an internship which will give me a full and rich experience in the ground.

China and Trinity

Trinity has a longstanding relationship with China which dates to the Mission to the Far East and the establishment of Trinity College Fuzhou. The Dublin University Far Eastern Mission (founded in 1886) established Trinity College Fuzhou in 1907, now the Fuzhou Foreign Language School. Later, Trinity was one of the first universities in the European Union to welcome Chinese students to its campus, with students from Beijing and Nanjing studying in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Today, engagement between Trinity and China is continuously deepening in terms of student recruitment, research collaborations, university partnerships, student mobility and general engagement, including through the establishment of the Trinity Centre for Asian Studies. Trinity has a growing number of Chinese students who study a range of programmes at the university.
