Student2Student (S2S) |
From the moment you arrive in College right through to your end of year exams, Student2Student (S2S) Mentors are here to make sure your first year is not only fun and engaging, but also a great foundation for the rest of your time in Trinity. You’ll have met your S2S Mentors in Freshers’ Week, and they’ll have been in regular contact with you via email. All S2S Mentors are students who have been through first year and know exactly what it feels like, so you never have to worry about asking them a question or talking to them about anything that’s worrying you. Student Counselling Service (SCS) |
The Student Counselling team offer free, confidential, and non-judgemental support to registered students of Trinity College Dublin who are experiencing personal and/or academic concerns. Their team of qualified counsellors are committed to promoting and protecting wellbeing and success throughout a diverse student body. No matter who you are, no matter what your situation is, the Student Counselling Service is there to support you through your difficulties. They help all Trinity students irrespective of age, disability, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, gender identity and expression, marital or family status, religion, ethnicity, or culture. College Health Service |
The College Health Service provides GP and Nurse clinics for registered Trinity students. There is no charge for student consultations (though fees may apply if certain testing is required). Appointments should be booked in advance. However, an emergency clinic runs each day, with students seen according to the severity of their condition. disAbility Services |
The disAbility Service ensures that reasonable accommodations are put in place for students with disabilities to enable them to reach their full potential while studying. Students who are registered with the disAbility Service are assigned a disAbility Officer who they can approach with any concerns or problems they may be facing, and who can help them to access the supports they may need to improve their time at Trinity. Student Learning and Development (SLD) | Student Learning Development supports Trinity students to reach their academic potential.They offer a range of services, including individual appointments, workshops, and skills events. These services are designed to develop skills in areas such as academic writing, self- and time- management, and presenting. Careers Service |
As a registered student you have access to information, support, and guidance from the Careers Service's professional team of expert Careers Consultants throughout your time at Trinity. The support they can offer you includes: access to the 'MyCareer' online careers portal, 'Next Step' career guidance appointments, practice interviews, CV and LinkedIn profile clinics, and access to their 'Virtual Assessment Centre.' Chaplaincy |
The Chaplaincy seeks to be a place of welcome and hospitality for all members of the University community. The Chaplains will be glad to assist you any way that they can, and you will always find a friendly listening ear. To those who seek it, the Chaplaincy offers pastoral guidance and spiritual accompaniment through a programme of faith development seminars, discussion, and prayer groups organised each term. The Chaplaincy seeks to promote a deeper understanding of Christian faith and spirituality. Students are welcome on any of our retreats, days of reflection, weekends away, and annual day excursion. The Chaplains also prepare individuals for adult baptism, eucharist, confirmation, and marriage according to the norms of their respective churches.

Free 24-hour Mental Health Crisis Support. Text About It provides a safe space where you’re listened to by a trained volunteer. You’ll text back and forth, only sharing what you feel comfortable with. By asking questions, listening to you, and responding with support, they will help you sort through your feelings until you both feel you are now in a calm, safe place. |

Dublin Rape Crisis Centre | Since 1979, Dublin Rape Crisis Centre has worked to prevent the harm and heal the trauma of sexual violence. They work with people who have experienced sexual assault, rape, or childhood sexual abuse. When sexual violence does occur, Dublin Rape Crisis Centre offers a range of supports including telephone counselling through the National 24-Hour Helpline, one-to-one counselling, and accompaniment services. Dublin Rape Crisis Centre also advocates on behalf of survivors of sexual violence to help ensure that they have access to responsive and sensitive services provided by law enforcement officials, medical personnel and the courts. HSE Sexual Assault Services and Resources | The HSE offer resources and services for victims of sexual assault (including rape and sexual abuse), such as Sexual Assault Treatment Units. A Sexual Assault Treatment Unit (SATU) is a safe place to go if you have been raped or sexually assaulted. SATUs can help by offering a forensic exam and medical care. After experiencing sexual assault, you may need help for a possible pregnancy or sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Women's Aid | Women’s Aid is a national, feminist organisation working to prevent and address the impact of domestic violence and abuse since 1974. Domestic violence and abuse can affect any woman at any age and from any background. The person abusing you may be your current spouse or partner. Abuse can also continue after a relationship ends. The person abusing you may be another member of your family. There is no excuse for domestic violence and it is not your fault if it happens to you. Men's Aid | Men’s Aid Ireland provide a confidential service aimed at ensuring that all male victims of domestic violence and/or coercive control receive the required support to be safe. Men’s Aid support those victims who, from a gender perspective, primarily identify as male, including non-binary, intersex, and transgender men within its support and services provision. However, the service will provide ‘support to report’ for any victim - irrespective of gender - by referral to the most relevant of their civil society partners, with the informed consent of the victim. HSE Unplanned Pregnancy Services and Resources | The HSE provide a range of services and resources for those experiencing unplanned pregnancy, including for partners, and those who do not speak English. 'My Options' is one of these services. My Options is a freephone helpline. It provides a range of supports for free, based on your needs. This includes information about abortion services, and medical support for anyone who is having or has had an abortion.
