How To Register (Undergraduates & Postgraduates)

For a detailed version of the process, complete with screenshots, please refer to TCD's Online Registration Guide. Below, you will find more basic guidelines as to the online registration process.

Undergraduates

You will register online via the website my.tcd.ie. Registration will open from August on a course by course basis.  A communication will be sent to the e-mail address you gave during the application process inviting you to log in to the website to register.  Please check your e-mail address regularly.

Please Note:  Students who have already accessed the my.tcd.ie website should continue to access it using your current username and password as this has not changed.  For those who have not previously logged on, a username and password has been created to give you immediate access.

Username:              Shown on the top right corner of both the email and letter you received.
Password:               This is your date of birth in the format DDMONYYYY, e.g. 03FEB1977

Once you have accessed my.tcd.ie, you will be presented with a log in screen asking for a username and password. For security reasons you will be asked to change your password following your initial log in.
Students entering some courses must complete and return specific forms before they can register. They are referred to as clearance checks on my.tcd.ie.  Please check the requirements for your course at www.tcd.ie/orientation/students/undergraduates.
Once you have completed on-line registration, you will need to collect your TCD student card in person during Freshers’ Week from the Exam Hall/Public Theatre (see map at www.tcd.ie/Maps). Most students will do so during their S2S campus tour (go to your course-specific orientation timetable available at www.tcd.ie/orientation/ - click on the link for your course- to see when your S2S tour is scheduled), unless there is a separate ID card collection time specified on your orientation timetable. Please ensure you print your confirmation of registration slip and bring it to the Public Theatre, together with photo ID.
All tuition fee, student levy and graduation fee invoices will be issued online only, via my.tcd.ie.  Click on the My Finance tab.  All payments must be made through the website.  For further information on student finance, see www.tcd.ie/orientation/finance/ .
Your lecture timetable will be available via the my.tcd.ie website.
The Academic Registry Service Desk Team will be available to address your queries which can be logged via the home page of my.tcd.ie clicking on the ASK AR button and selecting the appropriate enquiry category.
