Emma completed her PhD in University College Dublin in 2019. Her PhD was entitled: “Learning Analytics and Mathematics Education: Complementary approaches to supporting non-specialist students at undergraduate level”. Emma conducts data analytics for the University College Dublin Maths Support Centre. This work focuses on analysing student waiting times in order to optimise tutor timetabling. Her research interests include the areas of student mental health, assessment and feedback, resource usage, online learning, and learning analytics interventions. From 2019 to 2022, Emma worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the School of Psychology in University College Dublin with Prof Barbara Dooley on the 3SET project.
