Type of Awards

Certificate

Any volunteer can apply online to attend the ceremony provided you have logged activity on your Odyssey profile. All volunteers registered to attend the ceremony will receive a certificate on the night.

Commendation

If you're a Mentor, there are 2 ways to get a commendation: one or more group members can nominate you when they complete the feedback survey during the first term, and/or your Head Mentors can nominate you if they know you have been active and engaged. THIS IS WHY IT'S SO IMPORTANT TO KEEP YOUR ODYSSEY LOGS UP TO DATE.

If you're a Head Mentor, a Peer Supporter and/or a facilitator staff in the S2S Office can add a commendation to your certificate if you apply to attend the ceremony, provided you've been active and engaged in your role.

Novelty Awards

Each year the Committee and Head Mentors will decide on novelty categories and pick deserving winners. Previous novelty awards have included:

• Best event
• Best event name
• Best meme
• Best email subject line
• Most creative volunteer activity
• Best tiktok reference

Special Awards

Special Mentor, Special Head Mentor, Special Facilitator, Special Peer Supporter and Special Committee Member awards are highly sought after, and are awarded only to a select few each year. Special Award winners receive a unique prize and a separate certificate. They are the volunteers who have gone above and beyond their named role, and have brought immeasurable joy to staff and their fellow students through their responsiveness, engagement, reliability and diligence. This is the least we can do to repay them.

... of the Year

Each year the most outstanding and astonishing of our volunteers will be awarded with a lovingly prepared, engraved trophy to mark their achievement. Categories occasionally vary, but normally include:

• Head Mentor of the Year
• Mentor of the Year
• Volunteer of the Year
